Brodie Lee's wife has opened up over the cause of death over her late husband, who tragically lost his life at the age of 41.

Lee, real name Jonathan Huber, was well-known for his time at the WWE, as well as the AEW.

"I’m devastated by the loss of Jon Huber, known to fans as Mr. Brodie Lee, formerly Luke Harper," AEW CEO Tony Khan said over Twitter.

"Jon was a great man. His family came first, his loving wife Amanda & their sons Brodie + Nolan. He loved wrestling & was great at it, he loved you fans. Please keep him in your hearts.”

Born in Rochester, New York on December 16, 1979, Huber was a popular member of the wrestling team and was remarked as being "full of life".

His wife Synndy is also a former wrestler and the two married in 2008, going on to have two children.

Brodie was born in January 2012 while Nolan was born in December 2017.

Synndy, real name Amanda, posted a heartbreaking message to her Instagram account, going into some detail on the cause of Huber's death, insisting it was non-Covid related.

She said: "I never wanted to write out those words. My heart is broken.

"The world saw him as the amazing @brodielee (fka Luke Harper) but he was my best friend, my husband, and the greatest father you would ever meet.

"No words can express the love I feel or how broken I am right now.

"He passed surrounded by love ones after a hard fought battle with a non Covid related lung issue.

"The @mayoclinic is literally the best team of doctors and nurses in the world who surrounded me with constant love."

Huber was well-liked by all and tributes have poured in for the former wrestler, who was also known as Luke Harper.

“Loss for words. Guy LOVED being a dad. Loved his kids,” nZo said.

Betty Phoenix said: “Unthinkable. Love and strength to Jon’s family.”

Mega Ran wrote: “I have one Brodie Lee memory, when I was backstage at Smackdown, him and Miro were trash talking each other about FIFA.. I was shocked he was talking so much since Harper probably never talked.”

WWE legend Matt Hardy posted: “I’m shattered over Brodie’s passing. He was full of life with a wife and young children he loved. A devastating reminder of how fragile life is. Rest well, friend.”
