Dennis Schroder’s name made headlines this offseason when he eventually settled on a one-year, $5.9 million contract with the Celtics.
The 28-year-old is in the prime of his career and expected to enter 2021 free agency with much more profitable offers, but the well dried up quickly following a disappointing playoff performance for the Lakers.
Once the rumors made their rounds about Schroder turning down an $84 million extension from the Lakers during the middle of the season in hopes of playing himself into a larger deal, the internet took off with jokes regarding all the money he left on the table.
