Green Bay Packers Aaron Jones loses pedant containing dad’s ashes during NFL win

Green Bay Packers star Aaron Jones lost a pendant containing his late father's ashes whilst scoring a touchdown during the Monday night win over the Detroit Lions.

The 26-year-old scored four touchdowns as the 2011 Superbowl champions fought back to a 35-17 win.

The running back has revealed it was in the second of the four touchdowns that he lost the pendant which had yet to be found by the groundstaff by the time he spoke to the press after the game.

“He’d be happy,” said Jones, following the win. “He’d be like, ‘if you lose it anyway, lose it in the end zone!'”

His father Alvin Jones Sr had not missed any of his son's games in Aaron's nine years as a professional.

In tragic circumstances, the 57-year-old passed away in April as a result of complications with coronavirus.

With the season restarting in September, Jones Jr wore a pendant containing his late father's ashes in his first game back at Lambeau Field since the death.

Last season's Most Valuable Player took to Instagram in April to commemorate his father:
