LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — The Los Angeles Lakers relied on a trusted formula to secure a 116-108 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday in Game 3 of their first-round playoff matchup.
The Lakers leaned heavily on stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis. James finished with 38 points while shooting 11-of-18 from the field, 4-of-8 from 3-point range and 12-of-17 from the free-throw line, and added 12 rebounds and eight assists. Davis added 29 points on an 11-of-18 clip with 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Portland guard Damian Lillard had 34 points while going 8-of-20 from the field, 5-of-11 from deep and 13-of-14 from the free-throw line along with seven assists despite playing with a splint on his dislocated left index finger. C.J. McCollum (28 points), Carmelo Anthony (20) and Jusuf Nurkic (10) also cracked double figures for the Blazers.
The Lakers now have a 2-1 series lead, and Game 4 is Monday at 9 ET.
