NFL star Dwayne Haskins has landed himself in hot water after allegedly breaching coronavirus rules by partying maskless in a strip club.

The Washington Football Team quarterback has endured an injury-hit campaign but featured in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

And hours after that loss, Haskins – the 2019 first-round NFL draft pick – is believed to have controversially breached strict Covid-19 protocols by heading to a strip club.

Photos surfaced on social media showing Haskins apparently partying with strippers, while the NFL star was also seen without a mask.

In one picture, a woman is sitting on the Washington quarterback’s lap with both parties holding wads of cash without masks on.

Haskins has now apologised for the incident and could face a maximum fine of one week's salary or up to a four-game suspension.

"I want to publicly apologise for my actions this past Sunday," Haskins posted on Twitter.

"I spoke with Coach (Ron) Rivera yesterday and took full accountability for putting the team at risk. It was irresponsible and immature of me and I accept responsibility for my action.

"I also want to apologise for creating a distraction for my team during our playoff push. I will learn and grow from this and do what's best for the team moving forward."

NFL insider Tom Peilssero has also confirmed that Washington Football Team will deal with the incident internally.

He claimed: "The Washington Football Team is aware of social media posts showing QB Dwayne Haskins partying maskless in a strip club, was in contact with the NFL yesterday about the matter and is handling the matter internally."

"Washington has no plans to release QB Dwayne Haskins, who was fined for a previous COVID-19 protocol violation.

"Going to a nightclub without PPE is considered 'High Risk COVID-19 Conduct,' punishable by a maximum fine of one week’s salary or up to four-game suspension."

Haskins, 23, was reportedly fined nearly $5,000 by the team in October for a previous protocol violation for making a reservation for a family friend at the team hotel.

In six games (five starts) this season, Haskins has completed 62.9 percent of his passes for 1,285 yards with five TDs and five picks.
