Shaquille O’Neal’s body transformation not done yet as he explains selfie goal

Shaquille O'Neal has revealed he is not yet finished with his body transformation as he has a topless selfie goal he wants to reach for his 50th birthday.

NBA legend Shaq recently committed to a new and improved diet and training regime which saw him lean up considerably after he had passed 29 stone (450 pounds) during the pandemic.

He is in the best shape of his post-basketball life since retiring from the sport in 2011.

However, the four-time NBA champion and the league's 2000 MVP is not one to rest on his laurels.

As such, he has set himself a weight goal of 25 stone (350 pounds).

Shaq wants to hit that by next March when he reaches the landmark birthday so he can "go topless" on Instagram, he told Mens Health.

He said his fitness goal is to make sure his stomach doesn't hang over his belt.

And then he aimed a joke at fellow NBA legend and broadcast colleague Charles Barkley by referring to the look as an "over-the-belt Barkley".

Shaq has been working out at home as he converted his detached garage into a gym.

His regime features four one-hour sessions per week of which 20 minutes are cardio and the remaining 40 are strength work.

The transformation journey began for the 7'1" icon when he visited a doctor for the first time in his life around two years ago.

He was given a list of things he needed to improve on which included abandoning his beloved sandwiches.

During his playing days he would eat McDonalds burgers or "a turkey club sandwich with extra mayo and two pineapple sodas" – but those choices are now long gone.

The results are clear to see, with Shaq claiming he has a six-pack for the first time in 30 years.
