The Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler are progressing toward a maximum contract extension that could be worth up to $184 million over four years, sources told ESPN.
Butler and the Heat can finalize the deal over the next week and officially come to terms after Aug. 6, when he’s eligible to extend the initial deal he signed with the Heat in 2019.
Butler, 31, is coming off an All-NBA season in which he averaged 21.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists and a league-best 2.1 steals per game.
