Conor McGregor's feud with Dustin Poirier isn't over, even after the Irishman lost their trilogy on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
McGregor made some particularly aggressive threats towards Poirier in the cage immediately following the bout as the American was preparing to be interviewed post-fight.
He threatened to kill Poirier and his wife Jolie in their sleep in a rant caught by cameras at cageside, and after undergoing surgery for his horror leg break, claimed the win was 'illegitimate'.
And in a new series of tweets, which have now been deleted, McGregor made some more thinly-veiled swipes at Poirier, starting with a zoomed in photo from a friend's social media post.
He shared three pictures, one of Poirier celebrating with fellow UFC fighter Mateusz Gamrot that showed the American seemingly mocking McGregor's ankle injury, and then two zooms of a picture of him with his daughter.
After that, messages started to get more aggressive, with McGregor saying "I’m a dangerous man," and then "Gonezo".
He added that he is "a nasty dude I promise you," and reiterated his press conference jab towards Poirier "your wife is your husband".
And after all of those messages, McGregor 'apologized' for his comments about Poirier's wife, albeit in a tongue-in-cheek manner.
"Hey you guys," McGregor said in a strange tweet after the initially cryptic messages.
"I don’t want to associate any negativity with my foundation so I’d like to take this chance to apologize for Dustin’s wife trying to message me privately on Instagram."
McGregor started claiming that Mrs Poirier had slid into his DMs during fight week, with a screenshot and follow-up proof video being posted to Twitter.
And he repeated the claim at the press conference, and in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, which drew the ire of fans.
"Your wife is in my DMs, hey baby," he jeered as Poirier was making his way back to the dressing rooms.
"Hit me back up I'll chat to you later on, I'll be at the after party at the Wynn night club. You look in bits you little h**!"
McGregor lost his trilogy bout with Poirier after suffering a clean leg break while stepping back off a kick thrown at the American, and has undergone surgery with a view to returning to the cage.
"Whats up fight fans, the Notorious here," McGregor said on Twitter. "Just out of the surgery room, everything went to plan, everything went perfect. I’m feeling tremendous.
"We got six weeks on a crutch now and then we begin to build back. I want to say thank you all the fans around the world for the messages of support, I hope you all enjoyed the show
"I want to thank all the fans in who came to the T-Mobile arena – 21,800 fans in attendance. The place was absolutely electric.
"It was a hell of a first round it would have been nice to get into that second round but it is what it is, that’s the nature of the business, it was a clean break of the tibia and it was not to be.
"Dustin you can celebrate that illegitimate win all you want but you done nothing in there.
"That second round would have shown all and onwards and upwards we go team, we dust ourselves off, we build ourselves back and we come back better than ever. Let’s go team."
