Tommy Fury to star on Jake Paul undercard as Daniel Dubois also makes US debut

Daniel Dubois is ready to bring his heavyweight knockout show to the US – on the undercard of YouTube star Jake Paul.

While Tommy Fury, the brother of WBC heavyweight king Tyson, is also set to appear on the same show of his rival Paul.

Dubois, 23, will take on American Joe Cusumano at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on August 29.

The Londoner has yet to box outside of the UK as a professional but wants to make a name for himself across the pond.

He said: “I am grateful for the opportunity to put on an explosive performance in front of a US audience and show them who the future heavyweight champion of the world is going to be.

“I am ready now to push on and build on the WBA interim title I won in my last fight.

“I am thrilled to take the show on the road and look to win the American public over. I am told the American public love heavyweight boxing, so it is time to introduce them to Daniel Dubois.

“I will make sure it is a name they won’t forget in a hurry.”

Dubois, who has only one defeat to Joe Joyce and recorded 15 knockouts in 16 wins, is hoping to land a fight with US heavyweight Trevor Bryan later this year.

The appearance of Fury on the card points to a future money-spinning bout with Paul, the YouTuber who is trying to build a professional boxing career.

Fury, 22, has said he is serious about his career in boxing after gaining fame not only as the brother of the WBC heavyweight champion but also because of his stint on ITV show Love Island.

But he wants to cash in on a fight with Paul, who has no real experience in boxing other than three bouts against a fellow YouTuber, a former basketball player and a MMA fighter.

The pair have been bad-mouthing each other for months now as they look to build a fight.

Cruiserweight Paul takes on another MMA fighter in Tyron Woodley on August 29.

Fury will fight an MMA fighter, too, as he faces Anthony Taylor in a light-heavyweight bout.

Fury said: “It is unbelievable to get the chance to go over to the USA to fight and put on a show.

“I am grateful for the opportunity and I am definitely going to leave my mark on the American fans.

“American fans can, as always with me, expect a big dirty knockout.

“That is what I say and that is what I try to bring. I want to put on a masterclass performance and show levels again and show how much I am improving.

“It is another step on my journey to world titles.”
