    British boxer Tony Bellew and his family have been hit by a family tragedy just days before he was supposed to appear on ITV's 'I'm A Celebrity.

    Bellew, alongside jockey Frankie Dettori will join the show a couple of days after the series launch of 'I'm A Celebrity', which begins on Sunday night in Australia. However, the boxer and his family have been rocked by the tragic news of his grandmother's passing.

    Taking to Instagram, the former world champion issued a heartfelt tribute to the woman he described as a 'second mother', calling her "the boss of our house."

    Writing on Instagram on Saturday afternoon, Bellew said: "Goodnight Nan! I’ll love you forever girl.. An amazing mother to me Mum in what I can only imagine was a difficult time, You carried me and my 3 brothers like we was yours!

    "I can’t lie it was like having 2 Mums! You always put us straight and told us off! You was the boss of our house.. 97 years old! You was a lady and a boss right to the end.. I love you Nan."

    Alongside the heartfelt tribute to his late grandmother, Bellew also posted a series of snaps of himself with her, with both of them beaming from ear to ear.

    While it is unclear whether this will impact upon Bellew's appearance on the show, should he head down under, the Everton fan will be linking up with the likes of Nigel Farage, Sam Thompson, Jamie Lynn Spears and Fred Sirieix.
