Tyson Fury insists Deontay Wilder has “lost his marbles” by accusing him of tampering with his gloves before their heavyweight rematch earlier this year.

Fury ripped the WBC title from Wilder’s grasp back in February, battering his arch-rival from pillar to post before the towel came in during round seven.

It’s fair to say the American has not taken his first defeat so well; initially blaming it on the extravagant 40lbs costume he wore to the ring on the night, before blasting trainer Mark Breland for throwing the towel and later accusing Fury of cheating.

In a sensational video posted on Twitter last week, Wilder branded the Gypsy King a “coward” for not agreeing to a trilogy bout while also accusing him of tampering with his gloves in both of their previous meetings.

But Fury has denied the Bronze Bomber’s claims, slamming his heavyweight nemesis for making a number of excuses since his defeat in February.

He told talkSPORT : “I think he has lost his marbles!

“First of all it was the suit, then it was the bicep injury, then his trainer was on our team, then the referee was against him, then I had weights in my gloves…

“Now someone has spiked his water…

“It’s one of those things, isn’t it.”

Fury and Wilder were originally set to meet for a third time over the summer, before their clash was moved to December due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the reigning champion is now turning his attention elsewhere amid Wilder and his team’s attempt to reschedule the trilogy for 2021.

“The original date was July 18,” Fury said.

“That didn’t happen because he had an injury so it got put back three months to October, then that didn’t happen because they were trying to get a venue.

“And then they had three dates in December – 5th, 12th, 19th – which I agreed to all them and obviously that didn’t’ happen.

“So, I’m not going to wait around forever.”
