The UFC returns to Florida on Saturday night for UFC 261, and the world’s biggest MMA organisation has stacked the deck with three title fights for their sell-out event in Jacksonville.

UFC 261 will play to a 15,000-capacity crowd at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, with three UFC world title fights on the card.

The main event

The night’s headliner will feature undisputed UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, who will take on the UFC’s “BMF” champion and former title challenger Jorge Masvidal.

The pair met in a title clash at UFC 251 after Masvidal stepped in on six days’ notice to replace the COVID-affected Gilbert Burns. But it was Usman who proved dominant as he claimed a landslide unanimous decision victory after five rounds.

Now Masvidal has another shot and, after a full training camp, is looking to turn the tables on Usman, who is riding a 17-fight winning streak and has never lost inside the UFC octagon.

Other key fights

The night will also feature a pair of women’s title fights.

The co-main event will see reigning women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili put her 115-pound title on the line against former champion Rose Namajunas, while all-conquering women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will look to continue her dominance of the 125-pound division when she takes on former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade.

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman is also set for action as he takes on the dangerous Uriah Hall in a rematch from their days on the regional scene in New York.
