Florida men's basketball player Keyontae Johnson, who collapsed on the court Dec. 12 during a game at Florida State, attended Saturday's LSU-Gators game in Gainesville.
Johnson, the SEC's preseason player of the year, was hospitalized for several days after his collapse and later diagnosed with acute myocarditis, according to a person with first-hand knowledge. The person spoke with USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.
Johnson had a special seat for Saturday's game — it was marked with tape that read, "Coach Key." He is not expected to play the rest of the season.
The Gators entered Saturday 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the SEC. On Wednesday, Florida won at Vanderbilt 91-72, Florida's first game since Johnson's collapse.
