One month after extending his tenure with the New Orleans Saints, Drew Brees is creating a plan for a career beyond his playing days.
The 13-time Pro Bowl quarterback is signing with NBC Sports to become a future analyst for NFL broadcasts after he retires from the league, according to the New York Post. Per the report, Brees will be in line to succeed Cris Collinsworth on "Sunday Night Football" and is expected to begin as a game analyst on Notre Dame football broadcasts.
ESPN also was interested in Brees for a role on "Monday Night Football," according to the Post.
In March, Brees agreed to a two-year, $50 million contract extension with the Saints. The 41-year-old has not addressed when he might retire.
Brees already is the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards (77,416) and passing touchdowns (547).
