Just a day after star quarterback Deshaun Watson’s request to be traded from the Houston Texans came to the forefront, David Culley was announced as the franchise’s next head coach in an introductory press conference.
Before Culley even answered a question, though, Texans general manager made it known that the franchise has no intentions of trading away the uber-talented Watson.
“Organizationally, we want to reiterate our commitment to Deshaun Watson,” Caserio said. “We have zero interest in trading the player.”
Culley added that he believes Watson will remain with the franchise and that he is the face of the franchise.
“Deshaun Watson is a Houston Texan. He’s the quarterback of the Houston Texans, and that’s all that I was concerned about,” Culley said.
