A disappointed Philadelphia team that blew a 17-point lead to the hapless Washington Football Team heads home to face a Los Angeles Rams squad that perhaps overachieved in many eyes when it defeated Dallas in Week 1.
The Eagles’ (0-1) offensive line was ravaged by injury, giving way to the Washington defensive that was able to sack Carson Wentz eight times. Lane Johnson should be back to help address the protection issue as should running back Miles Sanders who also missed Week 1 with a lower-body injury. Wentz started last week’s game hot, going 12 of 15 for 174 yards with 2 touchdowns before the half but only finished 24 for 42 with 270 yards.
The Rams (1-0) silenced the offseason hype of the Cowboys with a 20-17 win that came down to the final seconds. One of the biggest surprises of Week 1 was the performance of running back Malcolm Brown who carried the ball 18 times for 79 yards and scored twice. Reigning Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald could have a huge day against the injured Eagles offensive line. Donald tossed Cowboys players around like rag dolls and finished with a sack and four quarterback hits.
Two streaks will clash when these teams meet, as the Eagles have won the last six games against the Rams, most recently in 2018, but Sean McVay is 4-0 in his career when his team plays in a 1 p.m. game in the Eastern Time Zone.
