REYNOLDS LINKED WITH BULLDOGS RETURN

Former Bulldogs fan favourite and Tigers star Josh Reynolds could make a shock return to Belmore this year as the club looks to boost its stocks for the revamped season.

The Daily Telegraph reported Reynolds is among a list of high-profile players that also includes James Maloney, Jordan Rapana and Ben Te’o, who the Bulldogs are considering as potential signings.

“The Bulldogs are looking at Josh Reynolds, who has had some injuries and hasn’t been able to get on the field that much,” James Hooper said on Triple M.

The Bulldogs have room to move in their salary cap for this year following the deregistration of Corey Harawira-Naera and Jayden Okunbor due to the schoolgirl sex scandal.

Reynolds has stated previously he would love to return to return to the club he made his name at, but he still has two seasons remaining on his Tigers deal.

However Tigers coach Michael Maguire has a preference for Benji Marshall in the halves and could opt to offload Reynolds to free up cap space to target other positions in need of recruitment.

The Dragons are set to make a call on the future of prop James Graham in the coming weeks.

The veteran front-rower will be 35 in September and may look to finish his career in the UK if a deal can’t be reached with the Dragons.

“The Dragons will sit down with James Graham over the next couple of weeks and discuss whether he wants to continue in Wollongong,” James Hooper said on Triple M.

“In all likelihood if he wants to keep playing he might head back over to the UK and finish in the English Super League.

“He has had a couple of head knocks in recent times so they would want to have all those sorts of conversations as well, but we will find out more over the coming weeks.”

RAIDERS SET TO LOCK IN RAPAPNA ON SHORT-TERM DEAL

Jordan Rapana is expected to sign a short-term deal with the Raiders for 2020 but could also be available for next season.

The 30-year-old is currently signed with Japanese rugby union club Panasonic Wild Knights, but their competition has been cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis.

“The Raiders are having a big look at Jordan Rapana and would like to get him back there,” James Hooper said on Triple M.

“The ‘Green Machine’ will make a big play for Rapana and in all likelihood he will land there.”
