Mikel Arteta’s position as Arsenal manager is hanging by a thread following their latest setback at home to Burnley on Sunday night.
The Gunners were beaten 1-0 by Sean Dyche’s Clarets at The Emirates thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s late own goal, meaning they have now lost four consecutive home league matches for the first time in 61 years.
It has been a nightmare first full season in charge for Arteta, whose side are down in 15th place after the first 12 games of the campaign.
The Spaniard’s future in north London is looking as precarious as ever – and there are five major issues Arsenal players have with their manager right now.
When Nicolas Pepe was sent off for headbutting Ezgjan Alioski in last month’s 0-0 draw with Leeds, Arteta publicly condemned the £72million star and branded his actions “unacceptable”.
According to football.london, a number of senior players were unhappy with the manner in which he called Pepe out on live TV, despite his indiscipline at Elland Road.
Another worrying sign for Arsenal fans is that Arteta’s relationship with David Luiz has allegedly turned sour in recent weeks, with reports suggesting the pair are no longer on speaking terms.
Arsenal have strenuously denied the reports, nevertheless, while Luiz’s representatives have issued a statement that reads: “David Luiz strongly denies this story about him and Arteta and insists he has a good relationship with Arteta and wishes nothing but success.”

Lack of leadership
Arteta’s decision to leave Mesut Ozil and Sokratis out of his Premier League and Europa League squads is also said to have gone down badly in the Arsenal dressing room.
Both players are influential figures who are massively respected within the senior squad, meaning their exclusion has reportedly dampened the mood at London Colney.
His reluctance to play William Saliba, who returned to the club in the summer after spending last season back on at St-Etienne, is understood to have baffled a number of Gunners men.
Saliba is yet to feature for Arsenal since completing a £28million move from the French club, and he has risked the wrath of Arteta by joking with fellow outcast Matteo Guendouzi on Instagram that he is currently “locked up” in north London.

Leaking training ground information
When Luiz and Dani Ceballos’ training-ground bust-up was leaked to the press last month, which football.london believe was the work of several agents of first-team stars, Arteta reportedly told his squad that he will “destroy” whoever was behind it.
Nevertheless, the fact some of his players are willing to do so is another indication they are not fully behind him at The Emirates.
