Aaron Ramsey is not keen on returning to the Premier League with Newcastle United.
Reports on the continent have stated that although club bosses were keen on bringing the 29-year-old back to England after a single year with Juventus, the player himself is not so eager.
Although he did pick up a Serie A winners medal, Ramsey only made 24 league appearances across the season, during which he could only manage three goals.
It remains to be seen whether new Juve boss Andrea Pirlo has a place for the former Cardiff man in his plans after the sacking of Maurizio Sarri, but Ramsey won’t be headed to St. James' Park.
Italian journalist Nicolo Schira reported on Wednesday that although Newcastle had opened talks with Juventus, the Wales international decided to reject the bid before it could go any further.
Ramsey has also been linked with a return to Arsenal having played for the club between 2008 and 2019, but Mikel Arteta could opt to avoid a move as he looks towards the future.
Ex-Gunner Emmanuel Petit gave his thoughts on that possible move to the Mirror earlier this month, and he said: "Ramsey wanted to leave, what is the point in coming back?
"He is on big wages at Italy and I'm pretty sure Arsenal won't be able to give him that. That is why he left for Italy."
Newcastle boss Steve Bruce is likely to be on the lookout for reinforcements after a mixed debut season at the club, and he previously stated that he would like to make several signings.
He said last month: “I think we need four or five players to add to the squad of players we’ve got,”
“So, we’ll go to work on that.”
When asked if he wanted to bring in a forward, he added: “I’ve always said with Joelinton, I think he’s better playing to a side, that suits him, so it’s quite possible that a centre-forward could be on the list, yeah.”

When asked about his time in Italy by the Athletic earlier this year, Ramsey said: “It’s different from what I’m used to.
“Even though last season Unai Emery was going through a lot of things. Sarri likes to go over things very thoroughly.
“Tactics here, especially in Italy, are such a big thing. The Premier League is more end-to-end. There’s a bit more freedom to attack and probably more spaces to exploit there.
“Over here a lot of teams, especially against the bigger sides, drop a lot deeper into a low block and encourage you to come and break them down. You have to be a lot more patient.”
