Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham claims Anthony Martial is "feeling unloved" following the arrival of five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese sensation returned to Old Trafford after 12 years away from the club, when he left for Real Madrid in an £80m world-record move.
The 36-year-old is adored by United fans with many lining the streets to secure a 'CR7' shirt ahead of his homecoming match against Newcastle.
But one man who isn't feeling the love right now is Anthony Martial. The striker has dropped down the pecking order since Ronaldo's summer return.
The Frenchman has managed 90-minutes just once this season, suffering a 1-0 defeat to West Ham in the Carabao Cup.
And United legend Sheringham believes the love has run out for Martial at United.
"It's similar to Harry Kane and Tammy Abraham, centre-forwards need to be loved," said the 55-year-old, to the Daily Mail.
"If you're not feeling loved and appreciated, if you feel you have one chance to do well in the Carabao Cup and if you don't, you're not going to get anywhere near the Premier League games, it does put pressure on you."
Should Anthony Martial be given a run of games at Manchester United? Let us know in the comments section.
Following the summer arrivals of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a wealth of attacking talent at his disposal.
Martial was still given his chance in the Premier League, starting Man Utd's 1-1 draw at Southampton. But the Frenchman was hooked on the hour mark and is yet to start a league game since.
Sheringham states the clock might be ticking on the 25-year-old's time at Old Trafford and he could take inspiration from Tammy Abraham, who has started the season on fire since his move to AS Roma.

"Tammy has gone to Roma and Jose Mourinho has said 'go in there and if you miss chances, you're not going to be out the team straight away.'
"It gives you a relaxed time. Footballers need to be relaxed and cool in front of goal, not snapping at chances.
"When you are loved by a manager, you have that feeling.
"Martial obviously isn't getting that at the moment because there are other players at the club in front of him and you feel like you have to snatch chances when you can."
