Arsenal fans believe Thomas Partey’s ‘muscle issue’ came at baby’s gender reveal
Arsenal fans believe Thomas Partey’s muscle injury was suffered at his future child's gender reveal party.
The midfield enforcer is a high profile absentee from their Champions League clash against Sevilla. While he was on the bench for their recent 2-2 away draw to Chelsea, Mikel Arteta opted to not deploy the ex-Atletico Madrid star from the bench.
Mikel Arteta said that he would not be playing against the Europa League winners in any capacity, due to a ‘muscle issue’ he has suffered in a training session before. Many Arsenal fans are convinced they know exactly when he suffered his ‘muscle issue’.

In the days leading up to the clash in Spain, a video of Partey and his other half at their gender reveal started doing the rounds on social media. He drop kicked a miniature football that was filled with red powdered paint to tell his loved ones that they would be having a daughter.
The Ghanaian put plenty behind his punt to send the ball and the paint into the abyss. However, he can also be seen slightly leaning backwards as he brought his leg back into his body.

After seeing this, many Arsenal fans believed it was at that exact moment, Partey realised he may be on the sidelines again. “That strike has popped the hammy,” one Arsenal fan laughed.
“Pulled it during the gender reveal,” another Gunner asked the team’s social media team. “Probably shouldn’t have kicked that ball at the gender reveal,” added a third, before a fourth said: “If it’s because of him kicking the gender reveal football then yeah, I’m done.”
If this was to happen last season, Arsenal fans would have been extremely worried. However, £104m summer signing Declan Rice has enjoyed an incredible start to life at the club.
He has also been forming a great relationship with January arrival Jorginho, who is proving to be a reliable general in Partey’s stead.
