Antony’s debut goal brought a smile to the faces of Erik ten Hag, his Manchester United teammates, a now excited fan base, and fourth official Simon Hooper.
The £82million man expertly ran around Marcus Rashford’s intelligent pass and slotted his new side into the lead on his United debut. His debut strike inspired United to a vital 3-1 victory over Arsenal.
While it is still early days for the Brazilian, he appears to be a mightily exciting prospect for the Red Devils. As well as bringing a smile to Ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo, Hooper also appeared to enjoy his first United goal.

As Ten Hag pumped his arms in sheer excitement, the experienced official could be seen smiling at the United manager. While he was talking to Ten Hag, Hooper appeared to point at Antony while the Brazilian was embracing his new teammates and supporter base.
And the fourth official’s reaction was not lost on Arsenal fans, who have taken out their frustration on Hooper. “They’ve been speaking all game long like a couple of mates lol,” one fan posted.
“Look at this it’s ridiculous,” another disgruntled Arsenal fan added. “That’s really annoyed me" another supporter said. Of course, only Hooper and Ten Hag can be sure of what was said between the pair. The usually cool and composed Ten Hag very briefly lost his composure and celebrated Antony’s strike like every United fan in Old Trafford.

He punched the air and celebration, let out some passionate cheers, and almost lost control of his arms. It is very possible the fourth official may have laughed at Ten Hag’s celebration, such was the Dutchman’s passion.
Not that Ten Hag would care if he got a tad over excited. United’s shambolic losses to Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford have been consigned to history as the Red Devils moved within one point of the top four.
They are riding on a very promising wave of momentum, having record four Premier League wins in a row. Ten Hag has instilled the potent fluidity and defensive steel that was absent from United’s performances last season.
