Arsenal have a host of transfer targets they could look to sign in the January transfer window. Mikel Arteta is claimed to be ‘ready’ to sign a central midfielder and a winger if the right deal is available. Express Sport looks at eight players the Gunners could look to bring in during the winter window.
Midfielders
Youri Tielemans
Leicester star Tielemans has been linked with Arsenal throughout 2022. His contract expires at the end of the season and looks set to leave for free if he doesn’t move in January.
Tielemans has not had a good start to the season with the Foxes. A successful World Cup could catch Arsenal’s eye and boost his chances of a move.
Konrad Laimer
Laimer was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer. His contract at RB Leipzig expires in 2023 and Arsenal were rumoured to be keen on him.
The Austria international is more defence-minded than Tielemans and could provide cover and competition for Thomas Partey. However, his chances of a move have been damaged by an ankle injury which could rule him out of the remainder of 2022.
Mikel Arteta Leeds Reaction
Jesper Lindstrom
Lindstrom is another Bundesliga midfielder linked with Arsenal. He is the most attacking of the quartet mentioned in this piece.
Whether Arsenal need a player of his type at the moment is up for debate. The Dane has three goals in his nine league appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt so far this season.
Danilo
Palmeiras star Danilo emerged as an Arsenal target late in the summer window. Injuries to Partey and Mohamed Elneny saw the Gunners scour the market for options.
Palmeiras refused to sell but Arsenal are reportedly open to returning with another approach in January. Edu’s knowledge of the Brazilian game could work wonders again.

Wingers
Mykhaylo Mudryk
Mudryk has made it clear he would be open to a move to the Premier League, and Arsenal in particular. He has impressed for Shakhtar Donetsk in their Champions League campaign to date.
Arsenal scouts have continued to watch the Ukraine international this season following their interest in the summer.
Pedro Neto
Wolves star Neto was reported as Arsenal’s top winger target in the summer. However, the asking price was too high for the north London club.
Neto has failed to score or assist in his nine appearances for Wolves this season. He was a boyhood Arsenal fan so perhaps the interest has affected his performances on the pitch.

Yeremy Pino
Spain international Pino was another player linked with Arsenal earlier this year. He turns 20 on Thursday but is already closing in on 100 career appearances for Villarreal.
Pino has a release clause of around £67million. Arsenal would unlikely pay that amount in a January window.
Cody Gakpo
Gakpo is one of the form players in Europe. He already has 20 goal contributions for PSV Eindhoven this season and is set to come up against Arsenal twice in the next few weeks.
The Gunners are one of a host of English teams said to be interested in the 23-year-old. However, Manchester United may no longer be in the race following the signing of Antony.
