There’s only a few days left of the transfer window and plenty of business yet to be done for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The Gunners have until Monday to bolster their squad, while there’s also a question of which players could be set to leave.
Arsenal have done some decent business so far, bringing in the likes of Willian and Gabriel Magalhaes, while tying captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang down to a new contract.
The club have limited funds left to operate with though and will need to offload players if any more new faces are to walk through the door at the Emirates.
With that in mind, here’s all the latest Arsenal transfer gossip and news.
Roma midfielder tipped for North London switch
Arsenal and Tottenham have both been sounded out as a potential destination for Amadou Diawara, according to a new report in The Sun.
It’s claimed that the 23-year-old defensive midfielder’s agent Daniele Piraino was “angry” at seeing his client on the bench for Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Juventus.
An error in the registration of the Guinea international’s age has already seen Roma penalised with an official 3-0 defeat from their opening match against Verona, a game that had actually finished as a goalless draw.
It’s said that Diawara was left upset over the mistake and is considering his future in the Italian capital, a year after making the switch from Serie A rivals Napoli.
Arsenal's Maitland-Niles stance amid Man Utd interest
The Express report that Arsenal have no intention of selling academy graduate Ainsley Maitland-Niles amid suggestions Manchester United are set to lodge a £20m bid.
The 23-year-old utility man, now a full England international, is said to be firmly in Arteta’s plans for the upcoming season.
However, four names were mentioned as being deemed surplus to requirements at The Emirates, with Sead Kolasinac, Lucas Torreira, Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi all allowed to leave for the right price.
It’s said that Arsenal remain committed to signing their top targets Houssem Aouar of Lyon and Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid, but will need to raise funds by selling players in order to pay for them.
Marseille express interest in ‘complicated’ Guendouzi deal
Ligue 1 giants Marseille have emerged as the latest suitors for Matteo Guendouzi’s signature.
The 21-year-old has reportedly been told to find a new club, having been frozen out of the first-team squad by Arteta after a falling out behind the scenes last summer.
French outlet Foot Mercato suggest that former Spurs and Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is keen on bringing the talented youngster to the Stade Velodrome for the upcoming season, but only on a loan deal.
Such a deal has been described as a “complicated operation”, with it previously reported that Arsenal would prefer to offload Guendouzi on a permanent basis.
Arteta plots different plans for highly-rated youngsters
Reiss Nelson could be set to spend the upcoming season out on loan, report football.london.
Nelson, 20, had previously gained experience at Bundesliga side Hoffenheim but was back with his boyhood club last season, making 17 appearances in the Premier League.
Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley and Crystal Palace have all been touted as potential destinations for the rising star.
However, fellow academy graduate Emile Smith-Rowe won’t be joining him, as Arteta is said to be a big admirer of the midfielder and wants to keep track of his development at Arsenal.
He spent the latter half of the 2019/20 season out on loan at Championship side Huddersfield, impressing for the Terriers as they swerved away from relegation in the second tier.
