Aston Villa are reportedly considering making a move for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer, while Callum Wilson has also been added to their shortlist.
Boss Dean Smith is keen to inject more goals into his side as they attempt to consolidate their place in the Premier League next term after narrowly avoiding relegation.
A draw at West Ham on the final day ensured that Villa avoided the drop at the first time of asking since being promoted back from the Championship.
One major problem for Smith last season was his team’s lack of goals, with captain Jack Grealish often having to bail them out from midfield.
And Celtic striker Edouard is now being mentioned as a possible signing to help, depsite the Scottish champions unwillingness to allow him to leave.
According to the Telegraph , Villa may try to pursue the Frenchman, even though the Hoops are believed to want at least £40million for the 22-year-old.
Edouard has scored 40 goals in 61 league appearances since joining Celtic from Paris Saint-Germain for £10m two years ago.
He netted 28 goals across all competitions last season and scored a hat-trick in Celtic's opening day win over Hamilton at the start of the month.
And the champions are desperate to keep him at Parkhead for one more season at least as they hunt down a record tenth successive Scottish Premiership title.
Meanwhile, Villa are also being linked with a move for Bournemouth forward Wilson, who will be playing Championship football next term if he remains on the south coast.
The Cherries were relegated on the final day of last season, despite beating Everton, because of Villa’s draw at the London Stadium.

Several clubs are likely to be ready to fight it out for Wilson, who was being linked with a big money move to Chelsea not too long ago.
The England striker’s form dropped off last season after scoring 14 goals and registering nine assists the previous season, but he is still rated.
Wilson was valued at around £50m when he signed a new long-term contract last summer, worth a reported £110,000-a-week, but would be available for considerably less now.
