Aubameyang reveals how he fooled Kurt Zouma to score FA Cup final winner

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed how he outfoxed Kurt Zouma for his winner in Arsenal’s 2-1 FA Cup final victory over Chelsea.

Christian Pulisic opened the scoring for the Blues within five minutes, but, the Gabon international equalised from the penalty spot just before the half-hour mark.

As Arsenal began to dominate their opposition in the second half, Aubameyang faced up against Zouma 1v1 in the box, but instead of coming inside, knocked the ball past the Frenchman onto his left and chipped it over Willy Caballero to make it 2-1.

That goal proved decisive as Arsenal clung on to their narrow lead to claim their record 14th FA Cup trophy.

Aubameyang admitted he knew Zouma would automatically think he would go onto his right foot, which proved to be a fatal error from the Blues centre-back.

‘I know Zouma, he knows I’m right-footed I said this time I go on my left, that’s it,’ Aubameyang told BT Sport.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand was left unimpressed by Zouma’s defending, citing the poor positioning of his feet when jockeying Aubameyang.

‘He gets it, he stands Kurt Zouma up, his feet are all wrong Kurt Zouma,’ the former Red Devils defender told BT Sport.

‘He doesn’t have to do much I think it’s poor defending.

‘The finish, the finish is just mouth-watering.

‘Look how wide his feet are, if your feet are that wide, you need to be on your toes he’s flat-footed.

‘Kurt Zouma is quick that’s one of his attributes but he doesn’t move his feet

‘He thought I can’t believe my luck here and then this finish is nasty.’
