Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s agent posted a cryptic Instagram story immediately after news emerged of the striker being stripped of his Arsenal captaincy.
The 32-year-old missed the club’s 3-0 home win over Southampton on Saturday before losing his captaincy due to a breach of club discipline last week.
Aubameyang’s future at the club now looks under severe doubt with the Gunners confirming the Gabonese forward will not be available for selection against West Ham United on Wednesday.
And it appears the matter has now escalated further with Aubameyang’s agent Kwaku Mensah taking to social media to post several pictures which may not go down well with the Arsenal hierarchy.
Mensah posted several pictures of Aubameyang during happier times with the north Londoners, such as him lifting the FA Cup and Community Shield trophies in 2020.
He also posted the striker posing with the Premier League golden boot trophy he was awarded after the 2019/20 season.
Mensah’s reasoning behind the posts remains unclear, though the agent could potentially be looking to get one back over manager Mikel Arteta by highlighting Aubameyang’s contributions.
But Arteta has on numerous occasions highlighted his “non-negotiables” for players to follow and his sternness demonstrates once again that no-one is above the club’s rules.

Aubameyang was claimed by The Athletic to have been given permission by Arsenal to travel abroad to bring his unwell mother back to the country, but returned later than planned and missed Friday’s training due to Covid-19 protocols.
It follows the striker having looked a shadow of his former self over the past two seasons since penning a staggering £350,000-a-week contract in September 2020.
His 2020/21 campaign was halted by him reportedly catching malaria and issues surrounding his mother’s health.
Aubameyang already has several high-profile misses to his name already this season and has only managed four goals in the league.
