Bayern Munich superstar keen on Man Utd switch with talks over a move underway

Manchester United have held talks over a potential move for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, and are confident the Frenchman is keen on making the switch to Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old has been labelled as a transfer target by the Red Devils, although Jadon Sancho remains at the top of their shopping list this summer.

The Athletic report that United are not expecting a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Sancho to be made easily and are strongly considering a move for Coman as an alternative.

The Frenchman has enjoyed an incredible run of success in picking up league titles in recent years, winning eight straight titles across spells at Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and now at Bayern Munich.

However, never during that silverware-laden spell has been able to nail down a guaranteed starting role. In his first season at Bayern Munich Coman started 20 Bundesliga games and that is the most he has managed in his career to date.

Coman is believed to be keen on the move to Manchester United, where he would link up with fellow Parisians Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.

There would be no guarantee of a starting berth at Old Trafford either, though, where he would be competing with Martial, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Dan James for a place in the front three.

He would certainly add some impressive competition to the squad though, having scored seven goals and provided seven assists for Bayern this season, and United are weighing up their options of making a permanent or loan move for Coman.

Much depends on Sancho, though, and if United can haggle down Dortmund’s asking price of around £100m, which they are adamant they are sticking to.
