Bellingham smashes Ronaldo record at Real Madrid that’s surely unbreakable

Jude Bellingham has obliterated a Cristiano Ronaldo record many thought would never be broken.

Real Madrid ran rampant away at Cadiz on Sunday as two goals from Rodrygo in either half put the game beyond reach. Then up stepped Bellingham, as he has done so many times already this season, to leave his own mark on the game.

The 20-year-old phenomenon galloped past Rodrygo with 16 minutes of play remaining before being played through by the Brazilian. The tight angle was no problem for him as he fired the ball into the bottom right hand corner, before going on to celebrate emphatically.

And with it, the Birmingham City academy graduate made history. It was his 14th goal in just 15 games for Los Blancos, the greatest club side in football history.

That mind-blowing figure exceeds even Ronaldo’s numbers in as many games. Real Madrid’s all-time goal-scorer only managed 13, level with another of the club’s former all-time leading goal-scorers in Alfredo Di Stefano.

And fans on social media were left in disbelief at the sheer audacity of his numbers, with one user tweeting :“The best player in world football right now,” while another wrote: “He’s better than Ronaldo for sure.”

A third added: “This is just the beginning, he is going to break a hell of a lot more records,” and a fourth commented: “Best signing of the season.”

Even more impressive is the fact that it was his first game back since a shoulder injury which ruled him out of Real Madrid’s last outing before the international break, as well as England’s 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia.

Bellingham has already tied his best goal tally in a single season – which came last term at Borussia Dortmund after 42 matches. The £88million midfielder has quickly justified his price-tag and then some, with a future Ballon d’Or surely within his grasp.
