Borussia Dortmund vs Man City prediction: How will Champions League fixture play out tonight?

There has been mixed injury news for Borussia Dortmund ahead of the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Manchester City.

While Marcos Reus and Mats Hummels both had injury scares in their Bundesliga fixture against VfB Stuttgart at the weekend, they are both likely to be fit for the match. This is great news for the hosts as they have a lot to do after suffering a 2-1 defeat in the first leg.

However, England winger Jadon Sancho is still out with a thigh injury and so won’t be able to make an appearance against his former club.

Meanwhile, City will see the return of all the players Pep Guardiola rested at the weekend including Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden – the two scorers from the first leg.

Here is everything you need to know about the tie.

When is it?

The match will kick off at 8pm GMT on Wednesday, April 14.

How can I watch it?

The fixture will air live on BT Sport 3. Subscribers can also stream the action live on the broadcaster’s website and app.

What is the team news?

While Jadon Sancho has returned to training, he will not feature in the match and despite having injury scares at the weekend both Marcos Reus and Mats Hummels should be fit for the fixture.

Meanwhile for City, after they were rested at the weekend stars Ruben Dias, Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne are all expected to star for the visitors.

Prediction

City could have more firepower with their rested players raring to go and they will want to get their side back to winning ways after they fell to defeat against Leeds United at the weekend. Despite Dortmund having star quality in Haaland, it won’t be enough to overcome the lead City already have. Dortmund 1-3 Manchester City (agg 2-5).
