Brighton ‘rival Arsenal and Leicester in race for £20m Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard’… with Graham Potter ‘hopeful that promise of regular game time will convince him to come to the south coast’

Brighton have reportedly entered the transfer race to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer.

The Frenchman – who has scored 87 goals in 196 appearances for the Scottish giants – has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Arsenal and Leicester.   

However, the Seagulls hope the prospect of regular pitch-time and a guaranteed place in their starting XI will be enough to lure the striker in.

Brighton are looking add depth to their attacking line this summer as Neal Maupay ended up as their top-scorer – despite only scoring five open play goals.    

According to The Sun, Brighton could acquire Edouard’s services for around £15-20million this summer as his contract at Celtic is due to expire in 12 months time. 

Brighton will, however, have to fend off interest from Premier League giants Arsenal and Leicester to sign the 23-year-old. 

Graham Potter hopes the prospect of a place in his starting XI will lure the striker to the club 

Leicester are currently frontrunners to sign the striker given his relationship with Rodgers

The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing Edouard as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, should he leave this summer.   

While Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers worked with Edouard during his time at Celtic and is said to be keen on a reunion at the King Power.

During his time as Celtic manager in 2017, Rodgers signed Edouard on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, before making his deal permanent for £9million.

Additionally, Leicester hold the advantage over their competitors as the Foxes’ head of recruitment, Lee Congerton, knows Edouard well – having negotiated the deal to take him to Celtic when employed in the same position by the Scottish club.
