Camila Cabello deletes tweet at Liverpool and Real fans after UCL final boos

Camila Cabello has deleted a tweet aimed at Liverpool and Real Madrid fans after she was booed at the Champions League final.

American heartthrob Cabello was booked to perform during the opening ceremony, but her performance went down like a lead balloon as Reds fans struggled to get inside the Stade de France.

As UEFA ploughed on with the pre-match formalities, seemingly with scant disregard for what was happening just outside, those inside the ground voiced their opinion by booing and singing over the top of Cabello. That clearly annoyed the 'Havana' star, who shared her thoughts in a tweet before quickly deleting it due to the adverse reaction she received.

"Playing back our performance and I can’t believe people were singing their teams anthem so loud during our performance. Like my team and I worked tirelessly for so long to bring right vibes and give a good show," she wrote.

Before adding: "Very rude but whatever. IM GLAD YOU GUYS LOVED IT." The tweet was quickly deleted. A source told the Metro: "It was deleted because someone who has access to Camila’s account posted it intending to post on their own account."

The 'Senorita' singer backtracked even more by putting out tweet praising the "electric" energy of the crowd. "This was something I will never forget!!!!!!! Dream moment for all of us! Thank you UEFA @ChampionsLeague and @PepsiGlobal, we’re so honored to be part of such a huge game #PepsiShow," she tweeted.

Adding: "I grew up watching soccer with my family and the energy in there was SO ELECTRIC I had so much fun watching afterwards too. Thank you so much to my team and the dancers and musicians and creatives that worked so hard on this show!!!"

Football fans on Twitter slammed UEFA for booking Cabello and attempting to make the Champions League final "too American." One wrote: "There’s not a single person who watches football who gives two f***s about this Camila Cabello performance. Get rid of this nonsense, we’re not Americans; this is football #ChampionsLeague."

While Pointless host and House of Games star Richard Osman joked: "This is about as welcome as a game of 5-a-side would be before a Camila Cabello gig."

UEFA's decision to allow Cabello to proceed with her performance was slammed after it emerged Liverpool fans were being pepper-sprayed and teargassed outside. A widely panned statement from UEFA read: "As numbers outside the stadium continued to build up after kick off, the police dispersed them with tear gas and forced them away from the stadium.

"UEFA is sympathetic to those affected by these events and will further review these matters urgently together with the French police and authorities, and with the French Football Federation."
