Carlo Ancelotti has taken steps to deter thieves from his £2m home after thieves stole a safe on Friday having been disturbed by his daughter.
The Everton boss shares his home with wife Mariann Barrena McClay, and lives next door to Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
The former Real Madrid, PSG and Milan coach is said to have ramped up his security following the incident, with police now having a bigger presence in the area.
The raid took place at 6:30pm on Friday evening, with Ancelotti rushing back from training after being made aware of the break in.
The Sun report that as well as a guard being placed on watch outside, police are also looking into another recent robbery that took place nearby.
They quote a source in security as saying: “Carlo’s never had any visible guards before.
“He’s clearly ramped things up. I’d also expect him to have some close protection for his family while out and about.
“As for the raid, the thieves knew what they wanted and how to get it. It’s probable they’d watched the house or were acting on information.”
A statement a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We are appealing for information after a safe was stolen in a burglary in Crosby on Friday evening.
“We were called at 6.35pm to a report two males had entered a property at around 6.30pm.
“The offenders were described as wearing black waterproof clothing, possibly with white writing on, and black balaclavas.
