Celtic vs Rangers prediction: Who will win the Old Firm derby?

Celtic and Rangers are known for creating one of the most boisterous atmospheres in world football. However, COVID-19 restrictions mean the latest Old Firm derby will be played behind closed doors.

“It is a huge ingredient that is going to be missing,” said Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

“The electricity, the atmosphere, the rawness, the noise – the colour.

“All that is going to be missing. You have to adapt to it as best you can.

“I think it is very difficult for this generation of players to go through what they are going through without supporters.

“We have adapted as well as anybody. Our focus has got to be on playing the game, obviously trying to win the game.

“That doesn’t change. What they will miss is the noise and that edge these games bring. So we have to try to devise our own edge.”

Celtic have been able to produce at least three goals in their last eight home games in all competitions.

“But no doubt Steven Gerrard will be able to produce a plan to get something of a result so expect both teams to score and over 3.5 goals at 30.8% probabilty.

“The likes of James Tavernier could cause problems for the hosts as the right-back has scored an impressive five goals in as many league matches for Steven Gerrard’s side and he’s a 23.8% chance anytime or 10.5% chance to score first!

“Don’t fancy backing a right-back? Leigh Griffiths loves a goal against Rangers and he has a 15.4% probabilty of being first goalscorer.

“Bookings? I’d be surprised if we do not see a red card – there have been five red cards in the last six Old Firm meetings so expect someone to lose their temper.”
