Chelsea and Bayern Munich are reportedly in ‘decisive’ talks over a late transfer for Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Hudson-Odoi has strong competition for a place in Frank Lampard’s side with Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz arriving at Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Blues boss is believed to be open to allowing a number of his players to leave as he looks to free up some more transfer budget and wages.
There is not long for any business to be done though with the transfer window closing at 11pm on Monday.
Hudson-Odoi was heavily linked with a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in January though a deal never materialised.
And fans could be in for a late transfer saga as German outlet Bild report that talks between Bayern and Chelsea over Hudson-Odoi are entering the decisive phase.
Lampard has appeared open to letting Hudson-Odoi leave having previously spoken about the need for him to improve his work ethic.
The boss recently discussed it after the winger played the full 90 minutes in the 6-0 Carabao Cup win over Barnsley.
"I think he did well," Lampard said. "Not easy with not so many minutes, he is the same as some others in the same boat at the moment.
Hakim Ziyech admits he 'cannot understand' Billy Gilmour in brilliant Instagram response
"I thought at parts he looked fresh and sharp. We talk about work ethic, which he showed really well in terms of getting the ball back for us, recovery runs, all the things which must be absolutely standard in his game.
"If you look at the top wingers in the Premier League and how they play. He showed loads of great moments. I was really pleased with Callum, I thought he had a good night."

While Lampard had also been evasive over comments on Hudson-Odoi’s future, saying: "I’m going to skirt around that question.
"We’re not in a period where the transfer window is acting like it has done in recent years. The competitive games have just started.
“My priority will be making sure I maintain the strongest squad I can but after that the individual conversations will happen.”
