Eghbali, in charge of the club alongside Todd Boehly, is said to have entered the players’ dressing room to address the squad after another poor performance from the Blues, a result which saw them booed off the pitch by their own supporters.
After the match, a clip of Eghbali went viral on social media with some Chelsea fans seen running after him and demanding answers.
Eghbali was seen rushing into the back of a black car, helped by a security guard.
‘Look at him running!’ One Chelsea supporter could be heard shouting on camera before the car door slammed shut.
Chelsea’s fortunes have been on a downward spiral since Boehly and Eghbali took over from Roman Abramovich, with a shockingly poor 12th-placed top-flight finish last season despite the club’s huge spending on players.
Things have not improved this term, with the west Londoners having won just one of their opening six Premier League matches and the pressure is ramping up.

‘It’s a mystery as to what’s happening at Chelsea. Sometimes chaos just flows throughout a club. I think there will be some changes in how they go about their business. I can’t see this lasting in terms of how it’s being run. It’s madness.’
