Chelsea fans have been left convinced that the signing of Kai Havertz is on the way after a sly hint from the club.
The Blues are desperate to sign the Germany international after a summer-long pursuit.
Frank Lampard is keen to splash the cash after encountering a transfer ban in his first summer in charge.
And he has wasted no time in utilising the club’s vast wealth after the signings of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
But there are more planned with Havertz set to earmark a new era for Chelsea.
And fans are convinced their club has a trick up their sleeve after a sly hint on their website.
Heralding the signing of Werner, the Blues posted a quiz about his career online.
The question read: “Werner was the youngest player to reach 50 appearances in the Bundesliga. Who has since broken that record?”
Among the answers were Jadon Sancho, Christian Pulisic and Havertz – with the Leverkusen ace the correct answer.
And fans believe it was Chelsea’s way of telling their fans a deal is on the way.
One fan said: “So a quiz Chelsea put out has Havertz as one of the answers. They really teasing us like that?
“You man really having a good laugh at us huh.”
While another said: “Chelsea be teasing us. We know you will announce it. Just be fast about it.”
And this fan wrote: “It’s only my club that will organize Timo werner Quiz on their app and Kai Havertz will be among the answers smh.”
A fourth posted: “I was just doing the Timo Werner quiz and saw this answer about Havertz. I love that it says the 'current Bayer Leverkusen man’”
And this supporter said: “Chelsea included kai Havertz as one of the answers to a recent quiz. Something is cooking.”
Whereas this fan posted: “Chelsea putting Havertz as an answer on their quiz, if they don’t drop a 10/10 announcement video I’m gonna lose my s***.”
Meanwhile, Leverkusen have told Chelsea that Havertz will cost £90m this summer.
They have also revealed a deadline by which the London club must abide by or risk the transfer falling through altogether.
