Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing the sale of Emerson Palmieri after Inter Milan lodged a bid worth up to £23million. Both Palmieri and Marcos Alonso face uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge with Frank Lampard not favouring either player this season.
The Blues boss has chopped and changed between the pair all season and hasn’t felt confident in giving either player a regular spot in the starting line-up.
Alonso has been the favoured choice at left-back since the Premier League restart, but Lampard chose Cesar Azpilicueta on the left side of defence over his two more natural options in the recent 3-0 win over Watford.
There has been ongoing speculation around Alonso’s future, but it appears as though Palmieri may be closest to the exit door at Chelsea.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia had initially demanded £27m for Palmieri.

And the report suggests Chelsea could agree to those terms, with Inter moving ahead of Napoli and Juventus in the race for his signature.
