Chelsea are facing a big decision on Sevilla's centre-back Jules Kounde with the Spanish side now demanding Kounde's release clause to prize him away from Sevilla.
Thomas Tuchel has been pursuing the centre-back all summer, and a deal could go down to the wire.
But Sevilla are now demanding €75million for his services, and the Spanish side have already turned down an 'unsatisfactory' bid for the Frenchman.
Sevilla originally set a deadline of August 20 with a €65million price tag, but Chelsea missed the window.
And the Spanish side are now demanding Kounde's release clause to part ways with him.
"Jules Kounde has chances to leave the club if some club will pay the release clause. Chelsea made a bid last week but we didn’t like it, Sevilla's club president Monchi said.
"If there isn't an offer which we feel we can reinvest well, then it won't be accepted. Kounde knows that, and he’s a fantastic professional.
"We had a deadline on August 20, but we received the bid on August 25… and we turned it down."
Chelsea now face a huge decision, if they should match the €75million asking price, or cool their interest in the defender.

The Blues have already offloaded three defenders this summer: Kurt Zouma, Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi for a combined £73million.
However, the majority of that was reinvested into the returning Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.
Chelsea's only other arrival this window has been former Fulham keeper Marcus Bettinelli.
There's plenty in the bank for Chelsea, but with the deadline approaching questions will arise if Sevilla can replace him before the window slams shut.
