Premier League clubs ‘want to use FIVE substitutes’ if they have to cram all their fixtures in to finish 2019-20 season.. and VAR ‘could be halted’ due to social distancing rules
Premier League clubs are reportedly requesting the use of five substitutes if they end up having to endure a fixture pile-up to complete the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
According to The Mirror, the suggestion has been made as clubs hold talks to work out the best way to bring a natural end to the season.
There have been suggestions of the remaining fixtures being crammed in to June, with some even suggesting that clubs play every day in order to complete their campaigns.

But while such a bumper fixture list would be great for fans, players performing that regularly would heighten their risk of sustaining an injury.
And there are also reports that VAR could be scrapped for the remaining fixtures due to rules regarding social distancing.
The technology needs people sat in a room at Stockley Park reviewing footage and that may not be feasible depending on the status of the United Kingdom’s battle against the outbreak of coronavrius.
