Cristiano Ronaldo posing on tiptoes has fans creased as he repeats strange habit

Cristiano Ronaldo's habit of standing on his tiptoes has left fans creased after the Manchester United star once again repeated the crazy feat before Portugal's Nations League clash against the Czech Republic.

Ronaldo, 37, is well-renowned for his goalscoring exploits – the five-time Ballon d'Or winner had registered a mind-boggling 815 goals throughout his career for club and country. But what's less known about the Portuguese sensation is his constant need to tower over his team-mates.

Standing at 6ft 2in, Ronaldo has made a habit of edging on his tiptoes in pre-match photographs, and when the Man Utd man once again lifted his heel from the floor on Thursday, football fans were quick to take the mick.

"I still can’t get over the fact that a man in his late thirties stands on tiptoes for team photos so as to appear taller," quipped one supporter.

"This guy has some deep psychological issues man. How can one of the goats be so insecure is beyond me," joked another.

"Why does he do this. So weird," added a third. While a fourth commented: "He just wants to be taller the the other guys in the photo."

Despite mixed reports surrounding Ronaldo's future at Manchester United, new manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that the Portuguese star will remain at Old Trafford for the 2022/23 season.

The Red Devils forked out £12.5million last summer to bring Ronaldo back to the Theatre of Dreams, 12 years after his record-breaking switch to Real Madrid. Despite a turbulent campaign back in Manchester, the 37-year-old finished the season as the club's top scorer.

After finish seventh in the Premier League, it was suggested that an absence of Champions League football could see Ronaldo quit United after just 12 months, but Ten Hag has insisted he will keep him for the final year of his contract.
