Wayne Rooney has turned to Manchester United for help after agreeing a loan deal for highly rated defender Teden Mengi.
The England U18 international centre back is expected at Derby County today for a medical before signing on loan for the rest of the season.
Derby boss Rooney has been eager to rebuild his squad quickly with departures depleting his options amid ongoing financial concerns.

Swansea are signing Morgan Whittaker, George Evans is going to Millwall while young striker Kaide Gordon is joining Liverpool.
Manchester-born Mengi has been training regularly with United’s first team squad and made his debut in the Europa League against LASK in August.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been happy to help Rooney and believes he will be good for Mengi’s next stage of development.

United winger Tahith Chong, meanwhile, has cut short his loan at Bremen and joined Brugge while midfielder James Garner similarly ended his spell with Watford to join Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
