- Sergino Dest has had a promising first season at Barcelona after move from Ajax
- Although lacking consistency, he has impressed on right side of Barca’s midfield
- He has emerged as a reported target for Arsenal, Juventus and Bayern Munich
- But the 20-year-old American is hopeful of staying at financially stricken Barca
Sergino Dest appears to have ruled out a potential Barcelona exit this summer, despite reported interest from Arsenal, Juventus and Bayern Munich.
Although Barca finished the season in a disappointing fashion after ending up outside the top two in LaLiga for the first time in 13 years, Dest has been one of their bright points in a lacklustre campaign that brought consolation in Copa del Rey success.
Dest, who arrived as a £19million arrival from Ajax at the start of the season, has impressed on the right side of Barcelona starting line-up where he has appeared as a right-back and more recently as a right-midfielder in a 3-5-2 setup.

Although many big clubs in Europe are tracking his progress, according to Spanish outlet Diario Sport, he has told reporters that he is ‘only thinking about Barca’.
The report claims Dest only wants to win titles with Barcelona as part of his ambitions as it is also where he thinks he will develop best as a player.
Dest has struggled for consistency this term, but has been hindered by a nagging muscular injury throughout the campaign.
Despite his commitment to the club, Barca may still be tempted to listen to offers for the 20-year-old given their precarious finances which have been made worse since the coronavirus pandemic.
The American international, even with his fitness issues, only missed one game through injury this season in LaLiga and across all competitions featured 41 times – starting seven of the club’s eight games in the Champions League.
