Donny van de Beek's father has described how his son's prospective move to Man Utd is a "dream come true" for the midfielder.
United have agreed a £40million fee with Ajax for van de Beek's signature with the Dutchman expected to put pen to paper within the next week.
The 23-year-old has long been linked with a switch away from Ajax and is now due to sign a five-year deal at Old Trafford.
Discussing his son's impending transfer, Andre van de Beek told Omroep Gelderland it was “a dream come true” and called United a "wonderful club".
Real Madrid were one of the sides previously linked with van de Beek, and Andre claimed there was more than one offer on the table, "but Donny decides himself," he said.
Van de Beek hails from the small town of Nijkerkerveen, which is just south east of Amsterdam, and the player's dad added: "It’s a proud village."
The midfielder played 34 times for Ajax last season, scoring 10 goals, and was one of the last of the star's of the club's 2018/19 Champions League run remaining.
He has had to remain patient as the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong and Hakim Ziyech all sealed moves to big clubs abroad, but van de Beek finally has his chance.

"He deserves it," said Jan van Leuveren, who is chairman of van de Beek's old academy side Veensche Boys.
Van de Beek even still gives money to the academy to help with their running costs and developing their facilities.

The player is now expected to fly into Manchester this week to undergo a medical and put the finishing touches on his move to the Red Devils.
Ajax reportedly didn't even negotiate with United, accepting their first offer which includes a number of add-on clauses.
His arrival adds further to the competition for midfield places, but United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to have told van de Beek he will play a crucial role in his plans.
