Borussia Dortmund have made Chelsea outcast Callum Hudson-Odoi after he was again left on the bench by Thomas Tuchel. Hudson-Odoi has struggled to find a place in the Blues’ starting line-up since Tuchel’s arrival in January.
The Englishman has mostly played as a right wing-back when called upon, though he has also been featured in one of the roles behind the striker in Tuchel’s 3-4-2-1 system.
But it seems that opportunities will be even harder to come by for Hudson-Odoi this season, with Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta the clear first choices out wide.
His sole appearance this season came in the UEFA Super Cup, when the 20-year-old played 82 minutes before being subbed off.
Hudson-Odoi has been named on the bench for all three of Chelsea’s opening Premier League games, but is yet to step onto the pitch in the top-flight.
While James’ three-match suspension after being sent off against Liverpool could open the door to playing time, it now appears that Hudson-Odoi is heading for the Stamford Bridge exit door.

According to Sky Sport Germany, Dortmund appear to be the frontrunners to offer Hudson-Odoi an escape route.
It is stated that the Bundesliga giants are “very interested” in the 20-year-old as they seek to sign a winger by deadline day.
Contact is expected to be established soon between the two clubs, with no offer yet on the table from Dortmund.
Sky Sport Germany report that Hudson-Odoi himself could “very well imagine” a move to Signal Iduna Park, with his opportunities limited at Chelsea.

The Black and Yellow have already signed Donyell Malen from PSV Eindhoven, though the Dutchman is not seen as the direct replacement to Jadon Sancho.
Instead, they want to bring in another winger to help fill the gap left by Sancho, who moved to Manchester United earlier this summer.
That winger appears to be Hudson-Odoi, though Sky Sport Germany report that it “won’t be easy” to convince Chelsea to agree to a deal.
Tuchel recently made it clear that he was not keen to allow Hudson-Odoi to depart, questioning if the Englishman did in fact need more playing time.
“There’s always room for improvement here in training. It’s hard to argue that he needs regular game time to improve his level,” the Chelsea boss said.
“At the same time, it’s not only about letting players go. If we want to compete in all competitions, it’s also about numbers.
“You need a squad of 20 to 21 players. I have the feeling that Callum decided to fight for his place here.
“He had a very good pre-season. The door is always open to sneak through. At the moment, there is no loan.”
