Edinson Cavani has been hailed as one of the best strikers in the world ahead of his move to Manchester United by Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho. The former United manager heaped praise on the Uruguayan ahead of his imminent move to Old Trafford.
United are expected to confirm the signing of Cavani today.
The 33-year-old has been without a club since his Paris Saint-Germain contract expired at the end of last season.
He left the club as their all-time record goalscorer, and had a wealth of options available to him.
Potential moves to Benfica and Atletico Madrid both fell through over his agents’ demands for a fee worth in the region of €10million (£9m) for facilitating the deal.

While the negotiations were going on, his new club suffered one of their worst defeats in recent memory, as they were battered 6-1 at Old Trafford by Tottenham.
Speaking after the game, Spurs boss Mourinho discussed the potential signing and heaped praise on club chiefs for going through with the deal to bring in Cavani.
