Mathias Jensen gave Brentford a surprise lead away at Old Trafford, and in the week ten Hag’s side lost to Galatasary at home in the Champions League it looked like they were on their way to another defeat.
However McTominay’s goals saved United’s blushes, and boss ten Hag has spoken about his decision to hook defensive midfielder Casemiro at half-time for Christian Eriksen.

Ten Hag explained his decision was because he ‘wanted more football’ with his side a goal down heading into the half-time break.
The manager also went on to reveal: ‘You are relieved in that moment when once again a game that was turning the wrong way for us, we found a turning point,
‘It showed the big character in this team, the resilience, and that we have a plan to keep going and you have to make your own luck. We kept patient and carried on. I’m really proud of this team, they kept going the whole game. The belief was there.
‘This has to be a turning point but also it has to be a restart because we have to get into higher levels.’
