Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has dropped a major hint about the future of highly sought after Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
The 21-year-old is one of the hottest properties in world football at the moment after impressing in the Bundesliga and on the European stage.
Haaland reportedly has a release clause of £68million in his contract that will become active in the summer of 2022.
He will therefore be on the radar of every top club around the world, though some suspect that certain teams will be unwilling to wait a year to secure his signature.
The Norway international has made 48 league appearances for BVB, scoring a staggering 47 goals and registering 11 assists.
One former player who is hoping we will see Haaland in the Premier League is Fowler, and he has his fingers crossed that he will be watching the striker playing at Anfield.
The 46-year-old posted an image on his Twitter account of two signed Dortmund home kits with ‘Haaland 9’ printed on the back.
Fowler then captioned the image: “Thank you @ErlingHaaland, look better in red next year”.

The post has sparked a lot of interest from Liverpool fans who think that their former striker, who made 266 appearances for the club, may potentially be ‘in the know’ and hinting that there is a high chance that Jurgen Klopp has Haaland on his shopping list.
Many expected the German manager to be more active in the summer transfer window but his side only recruited one player, Ibrahima Konate.
However, their lack of business could suggest that Liverpool have money in the bank ready to spend in January.

It is expected that Klopp will want to sign a forward in the mid-season transfer window as he will be without Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah for January when they will be away at the African Cup of Nations.
The ex-Dortmund boss will still have Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi, Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino to choose from and transfermarkt has suggested that they may also have 19-year-old Karim Adeyemi.
The German forward is linked with a £21m move to Merseyside after scoring seven goals in nine appearances from Austrian side RB Salzburg – where Haaland’s broke onto the scene in 2019.
