Football’s oldest cup competition returns this evening as an under-fire Tottenham side head to Goodison Park with a point to prove.

It’s the battle of the tacticians as Jose Mourinho takes on Carlo Ancelotti for a place in the next round, with both managers keen to deliver silverware for their new clubs.

Disjointed Spurs have just one victory in their last four matches, while Everton enter the contest just a point above their opposition on the domestic front.

This, however, is cup football. Anything can happen, with plenty of twists and turns expected along the way.

Robin Olsen has his time to shine in goal this evening, as Jordan Pickford is given the night off.

It’s a strong team named by Ancelotti, who is clearly going for it.

Glyfi Siguardsson captains the team, as the in-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin leads the forward line.

STARTING XI: Olsen Godfrey, Keane, Mina, Digne; Doucoure, Davies, Siguardsson; Iwobi, Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison

SUBS: Virginia, Tyrer, Holgate, Nkounkou, Bernard, Coleman, Onyango

It’s mid-week FA Cup action and two big guns are going head to head.

Both Everton and Tottenham are desperate to get their hands on the oldest trophy in football, with respective managers Carlo Ancelotti and Jose Mourinho expected to bring back the days of silverware.

The match is a repeat of the iconic 1995 FA Cup semi, when both these teams met each other and Daniel Amokachi became the most unlikely of heroes by lying to get onto the pitch… and then scoring twice!

Anything can go in the FA Cup, meaning the form book is well and truly out of the window.

Team news coming up very shortly.
