Fabinho notices what’s different about Man Utd this season in title race with Liverpool

Man Utd: Solskjaer previews upcoming Liverpool clash

Liverpool ace Fabinho believes Manchester United are starting to win games this season that they wouldn’t have in recent years, and are enjoying “good momentum” in the Premier League. However, the Brazilian midfielder is confident of a result on Sunday.

Liverpool go into Sunday’s game against United at Anfield from an unfamiliar position – second in the table.

Paul Pogba’s goal was the difference for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side against Burnley on Tuesday night, a result that saw United jump into top spot.

In doing so, they dethroned Liverpool from the summit for the first time since mid-December.

The reigning champions are going into the match off the back of a slump in form in the league, having failed to win in each of their last three outings.

Defeat against Southampton last week saw them drop points for the eighth time this season, having won nine of their opening 17.

United, on the other hand, are in fine form having turned things around after a poor start.

And Fabinho believes that they are showing – with wins over the likes of Wolves – that they’re a better team than they were last year.

He said: “We are aware that the fight isn’t only against Manchester United.

“But they are definitely confident and enjoying a good momentum in the league.

“They are winning some games that perhaps they weren’t last season, such as against Wolves.

“However, our focus isn’t exclusively on Manchester United.

“The main thing is trying to play our football and winning games.

“Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case in the last three matches.

“Although we lost some important points, we are still in a good position.

“Right now we are on top of the table, if there is something to change it’s not a bad situation to do it, as we are on top of the league.

“We have a big opportunity on Sunday against Manchester United and hopefully we can be the winners.”
